Chelsea news – Ibrahimovic nears Chelsea switch, Cole exit a done deal, Di Santo set for Bolton or Twente loan

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Chelsea. Today:

Cole exit a done deal.

The Metro newspaper claims Joe Cole has signed a three year deal with Arsenal today. The Chelsea midfielder has been linked with a number of clubs this summer as his contract with the blues comes to an end. Reports claim the 28-year-old will complete the deal next week, and Cole is hoping to announce the switch before the World Cup kicks off in 10 days time. The free paper claims Wenger is prepared to stump up a high wage offer for Cole as he attempts to build a title challenging side next season.

Ibrahimovic nears Chelsea switch.

IM scouting has linked Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a move to Chelsea, based on the fact the Swedish forward is at the same holiday resort as Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti in Florida. Reports suggest the Barcelona forward will join the Blues in the summer after the Catalan club confirmed they will consider his future at the club following comments made by the players agent earlier in the week. The Chelsea boss is said to have met with Ibrahimovic during his vacation to discuss terms.

Di Santo set for Bolton or Twente loan.

Bolton Wanderers have joined Dutch champions FC Twente in pursuit of Chelsea’s young forward Franco Di Santo. The forward looks set to leave the Bridge and be shipped out on loan again this season after spending last year on loan at Bolton’s local rivals Blackburn Rovers. Owen Coyle has targeted the Argentine forward but could loose out with FC Twente offering £2m and the opportunity to play Champion League football next season for the striker who joined Chelsea for £3.5m from Chilean club Audax Italiano.
