Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Liverpool. Today:

Jovanovic deal to go ahead.

Milan Jovanovic is still set to move to Anfield during the summer, despite the departure of Rafael Benitez, according to the Daily Post. The Serbian forward was thought to be very interested in working with Benitez at Anfield, however his desire to play for the historical club will still entice him to make the move. The Reds have been linked with Jovanovic for many months now and although the deal has not formally been completed, Liverpool expect to announce his arrival within the next few weeks.

Hicks preventing Liverpool sale.

It has emerged that Tom Hicks’ £800m asking price for the club has scuppered two perfectly reasonable offers according to the Mirror. Hicks is thought to want to make a vast profit on his Anfield investment, but this is putting off potential buyers, much to the frustration of Barclays Capital who have been trying to sell the club on the owners behalf. It has even been claimed that The Royal Bank of Scotland could present an ultimatum to the owners, whereby a deadline of a few months would be set to find buyers for the club otherwise loans would be retracted.

Benitez to take backroom staff to Inter.

Rafael Benitez’s backroom staff at Anfield are set to follow the Spaniard to Inter when he finally becomes manager of the Italian and European Champions, according to the Daily Telegraph. Rafa’s closest allies Mauricio Pellegrino – once a Liverpool player, Paco de Miguel and goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero will shortly leave Liverpool allowing space for a new manager to install his own preferred coaches. It has also been widely reported that Benitez will take some players to Inter as well, most notably Javier Mascherano, particularly if the Spaniard has a reported £80m to spend in the transfer window.
