Man Utd news – Luis Fabiano to reject Man Utd, Utd drop interest in Cole, Macheda staying in Manchester

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Manchester Utd. Today:

Luis Fabiano to reject Man Utd.

A number of Premier League clubs are set to miss out on Brazil striker Luis Fabiano after he told Italian press he wants a move to Milan. The Sevilla hitman looks set to leave Spain this summer after rejecting a new contract which put Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham on alert. The 29 year old though wants a move to Milan, who had a bid rejected by the Spanish club last summer. The Italian giants will have to pay a fee of around £15m to bring Fabiano to the San Siro.

Utd drop interest in Cole.

Manchester United have confirmed they are not interested in signing Joe Cole. The England international had been strongly linked to a move to Old Trafford after being released by Chelsea, after failing to agree a new deal with the champions. However sources close to the club say manager Sir Alex Ferguson feels the 28 year old is too much of a risk after his recent injury troubles. United’s withdrawal now leaves a North London battle between Arsenal and Tottenham for Cole’s signature.

Macheda staying in Manchester.

Federico Macheda is staying at Old Trafford for the coming season, according to his agent. The 18 year old who burst onto the scene with a goal against Aston Villa two seasons ago looked set for a loan deal in Italy. However his representative Giovannni Bia insisted the Red Devils have no plans to allow the striker to leave. ‘Manchester have no intention of sending him out on loan to anyone and for this reason I exclude any possibility of him being transferred in this transfer window,’ Bia told the press. Macheda has scored three goals in nine appearances for United.
