Newcastle news – Newcastle make Campbell offer, Chelsea and Stoke want Andy Carroll

Chelsea want Carroll.

Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign United forward Andy Carroll according to Caughtoffside. The website claims the forward is targeted as the Blue’s attempt to build for the future. After signing Ross Turnbull and Daniel Strurrige last season Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is hoping to build for the future and target the most promising up and coming ‘home-grown’ talents to challenge with an ageing squad at the Bridge.

Stoke join Carroll race.

Stoke City are also said to be targeting Andy Carroll, and have offered former Toon target James Beattie plus cash for the Under-21 International. Beattie has fallen out of favour at the Britannia stadium since a fall out with boss Tony Pulis and the club could now attempt to swap the experienced forward with the young forward according to the News of The World.

Newcastle make Campbell offer.

United are battling with Celtic and West Ham to sign veteran defender Sol Campbell, according to the News of The World. The free agent is weighing up the bid’s after his short-term Arsenal deal expired. It is understood the Gunners offered Campbell a one year extension but the other three clubs including Newcastle have offered a longer contract with coaching roles included.
