The Ivory Coast are Africa’s brightest hope in the World
His squad is full of quality players who mostly apply their trade in Europe. Standout players within the team include Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Kalou and Barcelona’s Yaya Toure. In goal will be Boubacar Barry, he applies his trade in Belgium with Lokeren. He has previous World Cup experience but is probably the weak link as far as the Ivory Coast are concerned. Barry has no real rivals for his position so is definitely the starting keeper. The defence look quite solid, expect Kolo Toure to be at the heart of the defence with either Sol Bamba or Steve Gohouri beside him. Bamba and Gohouri are inconsistent players and may struggle against the better players in the competition so they will need the help of Toure alongside who has proven over the years he has World class pedigree. At right back will be Hamburg’s Guy Demel who can raid down the flank but is also a solid defender.
Providing competition for that place will be Emmanuel Eboue but he is more likely to feature in the midfield. The left back slot will be filled by either Arthur Boka or Siaka Ti
