Dawson ready for England.
Michael Dawson has said it would be a dream come true to make his debut against Algeria on Friday. He told Skysports: “For me, it would be a dream to play, but we’re just concentrating on training and hopefully I’ll do the best I can and we’ll see.” The 26-year-old was initially cut from the 23-man squad bound for South Africa, only to get the call from Fabio Capello days later when Rio Ferdinand was ruled out of the competition through a knee injury.
Spurs back in for Pletikosa.
Tottenham are lining up a bid for Spartak Moscow goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosam, according to reports in the Daily Mail. Spurs were reportedly interested in the Croatian in January but fitness concerns deterred the London club from following through with the transfer. Tottenham plan to bring Pletikosa to White Hart Lane on a season-long loan before they make his move permanent and put pen to paper.
Inter want Bale.
Inter have not given up the chase for Spurs youngster Gareth Bale. According to the Italian sports daily, Corriere dello Sport, Inter will try to tempt Tottenham with midfielder Sulley Muntari in exchange for the Welsh star. Bale signed a new four-year deal in May to lockdown his future at White Hart Lane, but this has not discouraged Rafael Benitez. Bale impressed everyone in the second half of the season for Spurs and has caught the eye of a number of clubs.
