Spurs in Luis Fabiano talks.
Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano has become the latest player to be targeted by Tottenham Hotspur. The 29-year-old is currently out in South Africa with Brazil but was headhunted by a number of clubs before the tournament even began. According to the News of the World, Chelsea, Milan and Manchester City are also in the race to sign the striker who only has a year left on his contract with Sevilla. It is believed Spurs have already approached his agent Luis Fuentes in order to discuss his client’s future.
Fulham ready to take Gudjohnson.
Fulham will not hesitate to sign Eidur Gudjohnson if the player does not put pen to paper at White Hart Lane. Harry Redknapp loaned the striker from Monoco last season but has still not signed the 31-year-old on a permanent deal for next season. Chairman Daniel Levy is believed to be waiting for fringe players to be sold before he begins signing new players, but Redknapp has said he wants to keep hold of Gudjohnson.
Woodgate out for pre-season.
Jonathon Woodgate has still not recovered from a long-term groin injury and may not be fit for pre-season training. The 30-year-old defender recently travelled to New York and Australia for treatment but has yet to return to full training. Woodgate only managed three appearances last season and his age makes the prospect of a return even more unlikely. According to the News of the World, Harry Redknapp had presumed Woodgate would be ready for the new season.
