Tottenham news – Spurs move for Richards, Pav wants Spurs exit, Palacios set for return

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Tottenham. Today:

Pav wants Spurs exit.

Roman Pavlyuchenko has said he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur and join another Premier League club according to Goal.com. The Russian struggled for a starting position last season and openly admitted he is considering a move elsewhere. Despite the opportunity of starring in the Champions League with Spurs, the 28-year-old has said he would rather move to another club where he is guaranteed a starting place. Pavlyuchenko has said he wants to stay in the Premier League with reports of a possible move to London rivals West Ham.

Spurs move for Richards.

Defender Micah Richards is willing to part company with Manchester City and join Tottenham Hotspur according to the Mirror. The 21-year-old has had a tough time at Eastlands and would rather ply his trade under Harry Redknapp. The Spurs boss has replied in kind and has said he would be keen on signing the right-back for next season. But Richards’s desire to move may be put on hold for the time being by City, who must obey new EUFA Cup rules that state every side must have at least eight home-grown players in the squad.

Palacios set for return.

Wilson Palacios is making a remarkable recovery and could be fit for Honduras’s first match in Group H against Chile on Wednesday. The Tottenham midfielder and the minnows’ star player had been practically ruled out of his country’s opening match, after sustaining a thigh injury pre-tournament. Team doctor Oscar Benitez told the Mail: ‘Wilson is 100 per cent. He is training at high intensity and we are very happy. He is a lion. He is ready.’
