Spurs set to tie up Cavani and Kjaer deal.

Tottenham appear to have made their first two signings of the summer in Palermo’s Simon Kjaer and Edinson Cavani. Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini told Sky Italia television: “Tottenham have bid €35m, an offer we cannot refuse, seeing as the two players have both said they want to leave.” Both players have impressed at the South Africa World Cup for their respective countries and will greatly strengthen a Tottenham side preparing for the Champions League next season.

Lucrative contract offer for Cole.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an official offer to sign Joe Cole, in a bid to capture the 28-year-old ahead of bitter rivals Arsenal. Chairman Daniel Levy is believed to have constructed a contract for Cole that he hopes will draw him closer to White Hart Lane and further from the Emirates and Arsene Wenger. It is understood by the Daily Mail that Spurs will offer Cole £60,000 a week to play under Harry Redknapp and will not go any higher if the offer is turned down by the player.

Redknapp wants England job.

According to, Harry Redknapp will not turn down the opportunity to be England Manager. The future of current England boss Fabio Capello hangs in the balance after the disastrous 4-1 defeat to the Germans in the Last 16 on Sunday. Capello has said he will talk to the FA very soon to discover if he will or will not remain in the England hotseat. Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has been tipped to be the Italian’s replacement, but Redknapp is ready and willing if they deem him right for the job.
