Harry Redknapp has said he would be prepared to let Robbie Keane leave Tottenham this summer so long as he has someone to fill his shoes. Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill has shown interest in the Republic of Ireland international and talks of transfer are expected to begin very soon. The Spurs boss hopes he can agree a swap deal which would see Gabriel Agbonlahor join Spurs in return for Keane, according to the News of the World.
Redknapp turns down Dubai offer.
Harry Redknapp is ready to sign a new two-year contract at White Hart Lane, after turning down a £3 million a year, tax-free deal to manage Al Ahli of Dubai. According to the News of the World, the Spurs boss was approached two weeks ago by the United Arab Emirates club but Redknapp is set to meet with Chairman Daniel Levy on Wednesday to secure his future at White Hart Lane.
King misses Algeria match.
Ledley King has been ruled out of England’s next match in Group C through injury according to Eurosport. Coach Fabio Capello opted to start Ledley King to partner John Terry at the centre of the defence, but had to be replaced at half time by Jamie Carragher. Capello confirmed the Spurs player will not be fit to play in England’s next game against Algeria on Friday: ‘The doctor told me had some problems with his abductor (muscle) – he will not fit be for next game.’
