Vucinic turns down Man City move

Montenegro striker Mirko Vucinic has coolly rejected the ‘flattering’ interest in his services from Manchester City, according to the Daily Mail. Vucinic, 27, said “I am happy here and want to stay at the Olimpico, but then it is all up to Roma really.” The striker scored 17 goals in Italy last season, helping his Roma side finish runners up to Juventus in Serie A.

Former Manchester United target Vucinic has a contract with Roma until 2013 that he is looking to honour, although it is thought that he could be allowed to leave the club for around £15m. Nevertheless, Roberto Mancini will undoubtedly have plenty of other targets in mind as he attempts to strengthen his attacking options in pursuit of Champions League qualification next season.
