Arsenal news – Campbell to stay, Rosicky next for Gunners exit, Almunia sale likely

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Arsenal. Today:

Rosicky next for Gunners exit.

Tomas Rosicky may be leaving the North London outfit, as CSKA Moscow and Borussia Dortmund have enquired about the Czech stars availability. According to the Mirror, Arsene Wenger wants to trim his squad, and a sale may interest him as he looks to set to bring talented youngsters. However with Eduardo leaving, attacking options seem limited if the Frenchman wants to sign defence minded players.

Almunia sale likely.

Manuel Almunia looks set to exit the Emirates door, after being devastated at not starting in recent friendlies. According to the Mirror, Lukas Fabianski is set to deputise, if they fail to sign Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer. Atletico Madrid have made an enquiry for 33-year-old Almunia who was axed at the end of last season after Arsenal lost at Tottenham, a defeat which ended their title hopes.

Campbell to stay.

Sol Campbell is set to extend his stay at the Emirates for a further year, rejecting a possible move to Celtic, according to reports in The Sun. Speaking after Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Sturm Graz on their tour of Austria, manager Arsene Wenger admitted that the club would be willing to consider letting the 35-year-old stay on for another season, which would appear to be the first preference of the player.
