Arsenal news – Gunners back in for Ozil, Eduardo exit latest, Wenger criticises new rules

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Arsenal. Today:

Eduardo exit latest.

Arsenal are set to lose one of their strikers, as Shakhtar Donetsk close in on a £6m transfer for Eduardo. The Croatian has attracted the attentions of Valencia, Aston Villa and Besiktas according to the Daily Mail, but a high wage and Champions League football would favour a move to the Ukrainian side. The Brazilian born striker was pulled out of the Arsenals 4-0 victory over Barnet, at the very last minute.

Wenger criticises new rules.

Arsene Wenger has hit out at rules limiting him to a certain number of foreign players allowed in Premier League squads. He branded the rules ‘artificial’ as eight of the 25-man squad have to be a home grown player, according to the Mirror. This rule may mean the North London club may have to sell players. “We have to respect this rule, so with players coming in, that means players going out at well,” said the Frenchman.

Gunners back in for Ozil.

Arsenal could be set to land German sensation Mesut Ozil, after Werder Bremen admitted they are willing to listen to offers for the midfielder. Arsene Wenger has been a long term admirer and impressive displays in the World Cup have attracted a large amount of interest, according to the Daily Mail. This move could come about after reportedly losing out on Joe Cole to Liverpool, which now opens the door to a £20m bid for the attacking midfielder.
