Chelsea news – Man City want Drogba, Chelsea interest in free agent, Van Der Wiel move unlikely

Man City want Drogba.

Manchester City are lining up a surprise £20m bid for Chelsea forward Didier Drogba, according to The Sun. The 32-year-old won the Premier League Golden boot last season after bagging 29 goals for the Blue’s and would sign a reported £18m three year contract. If the deal goes through it would take City’s spending to over 80m already this season, joining Yaya Toure, David Silva and Jerome Boateng in Manchester.

Van Der Wiel move unlikely.

Chelsea could lose out to Bayern Munich in their bid to sign Dutch right back Gregory Van Der Wiel. The German side have agreed a £14m fee with Ajax for the defender and the Bundesliga Champions hope to complete the deal before Sunday’s World Cup final. And Ajax have told the Blue’s they must better the offer put forward to them from Bayern to capture one of the hottest properties in Europe.

Chelsea interest in free agent.

Chelsea have joined a grown list of admirers for free agent Dan Gosling. The former Everton midfielder/defender is available on a free transer after a loopho;le was discovered in his contract at Goodison Park and has already held talks with Newcastle United. However the Premier League Champions have joined the race along with Spurs, Sunderland and West Ham. A move to London could be favourable for Gosling who has family in East London. The 20-year-old was a target for the blues in 2007 when at Plymouth and was invited to train with the Blue’s for a week.
