Torres deal helped by injury.

The Daily Mail reports Chelsea believe Fernando Torres’ latest injury setback could be an advantage to the club in its pursuit to land the World Cup winner. The paper claims Chelsea are confident are securing a deal with Liverpool, who the blue’s believe will hope to cash in on the injury prone striker. The Kop forward’s latest injury looks set to rule him out until beyond the start of the new season leaving new boss Roy Hodgson with a dilemma of keeping him at the kop or cashing in on now suspected 35m offered by Chelsea.

Blues to resist Cole offer.

The Blues also believe they will be able to resist a bid from Real Madrid for Ashley Cole this summer, even if the left back decides he wants to play abroad, according to the Daily Telegraph. Cole has made no secret of his displeasure of the intense coverage of his private life in England and Jose Mourinho is said to be confident of securing a deal to reunite with the player he took to Stamford bridge from Arsenal. Cole however has made no direct indication to Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti and the Italian still regards Cole as an integral player in his side.

Belletti makes Fluminense move.

Brazilian side Fluminense have confirmed the signing of former Chelsea full back Juliano Belletti. Signed in 2007 from Barcelona the right-back made over 90 appearances for the blue’s but boss Carlo Ancelotti decided against renewing his contract this summer. Fluminense revealed on the clubs website The 34-year-old will sign a two year deal at the club subject to passing a medical.
