Dzeko presses Wolfsburg for City move.
Manchester City target Edin Dzeko has pleaded with his current employers Wolfsburg to lower their £50m asking price for the Bosnian striker. The Daily Mail reports that Dzeko is hopeful of securing a move to Man City, if Wolfsburg lowers their demands. Dzeko said: “I feel I have to take a leap in quality and play for a big club. It is an important moment of my career and I also explained that to the leaders of Wolfsburg. With them, I have a wonderful relationship and I’m sure they will fulfil my desire”.
City in Balotelli talks.
Another piece from the Daily Mail<7i> is the belief that Mario Balotelli’s agent is to fly in from Milan to talk to representatives of Man City and Man Utd. Both teams have expressed an interest in the troublesome 19 year old, but Inter want £30m for Balotelli, despite him being uncapped for Italy yet. Balotelli worked with Mancini, when Mancini was at Inter, but the player’s agent has said that he still admires Sir Alex Ferguson.
Alonso criticises de Jong.
Manchester City’s Nigel de Jong has been heavily criticised by Xabi Alonso over the kung-fu tackle by de Jong, which resulted in a broken rib for Alonso. The World Cup winning Spaniard said in The Sun newspaper: “I am in pain now. It was one of the worst tackles I have ever had, certainly one of the most painful. It was hard to play on. I have probably broken a rib.”
