Welbeck Sunderland move.

Sunderland are eyeing up Manchester United’s Danny Welbeck, according to the Sunday Sun. Black Cats head coach Steve Bruce wants to bolster his attacking options for next season and thinks the 19-year-old fits the bill. Sunderland actually tried to sign the striker permanently last week but failed to meet United’s £8m valuation. The North East side are now trying to sign the England under-21 international on a season long loan however the Red Devil’s prefer a permanent transfer. Welbeck spent part of last season on loan at Preston North End.

Vidic wants Man Utd exit.

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic is keen to leave Old Trafford this summer, according to The Sun. The Serbian who joined from Spartak Moscow in 2006 is upset that the Red Devil’s have failed to give him an improved contract and is now looking for the Old Trafford exit door. New Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho is looking for defensive reinforcements and will test United’s resolve with an £18m for the centre back. Red’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson will not want to lose Vidic with Rio Ferdinand set to miss the start of the Premier League season through injury.

Ozil interest upped.

Manchester United are to step up their interest in Mesut Ozil by offering Dimitar Berbatov in a part exchange deal, according to Caught offside. United manager Alex Ferguson is keen to add some creativity to his ranks and has been tracking Ozil through the World Cup, where he was very impressive. Werder Bremen don’t want to risk losing Ozil on a free next summer, when his contract runs out but the German’s want a player in exchange. United are willing to offer Berbatov who has failed to impress in his two seasons at Old Trafford. The Manchester club face tough competition for the 21-year-olds signature with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Bayern Munich all interested.
