Tottenham news – Bellamy deal getting closer, Bournemouth 0-4 Spurs, O’Neill ready to seal Keane deal

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Tottenham. Today:

Bournemouth 0-4 Spurs.

Tottenham kicked off their pre-season campaign yesterday with a convincing 4-0 drubbing over League One opponents Bournemouth. Roman Pavlyuchenko struggled to make the starting XI for much of last season but fired two past the Cherries goalkeeper in what was an impressive second half performance from the Russian. The only sour point in an otherwise encouraging afternoon from Spurs was the early departure of David Bentley through injury.

O’Neill ready to seal Keane deal.

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill will make a bid for Robbie Keane according to The Mirror. O’Neill has come to terms with losing James Milner in the coming weeks, and intends to use the money from the sale to buy Keane at the top of his agenda. Just yesterday Harry Redknapp made it clear to managers that he will not be willing to loan out the striker any longer and only a cash bid will suffice.

Bellamy deal getting closer.

Harry Redknapp is getting close to completing the signing of Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy, according to the Peope on Sunday. Rumours of the transfer have been around since the end of the season, but it is now thought that the two clubs can agree on a £7m asking price for the Welsh international.
