Kranjcar fitness update.
Spurs midfielder Niko Kranjcar has recovered from the injury he sustained against Portsmouth in the FA Cup Semi-Final last season. The midfielder is confident he will be ready for a difficult opening game against Manchester City on 14 August. He told the Daily Star: “I’ve been working hard to get the ankle back to good health and hopefully I’ll benefit from a longer pre-season than usual.”
Woodgate future hangs in the balance.
The future of Jonathon Woodgate hangs in the balance as Harry Redknapp admits his future at the club will be decided in pre-season. Woodgate, 30, only managed three appearances for Spurs last season, the last of those back in November: “If he’s not going to be back pretty soon, he’s got big problems,” confessed the Spurs boss to Ham & High. “It’s been a year now for Jonathan and he’s really got to be coming back and playing now.” Simon Kjaer had been a target of Redknapp’s before the Danish centre back opted to join Wolfsburg instead.
