Tottenham news – New shirt sponsor announced, Pienaar deal back on, Keane loan exit ruled out

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Tottenham. Today:

New shirt sponsor announced.

Software Company Autonomy Corporation has become the new Premier League shirt sponsor of Tottenham Hotspur according to marketingmagazine.com. The company will become only the fifth brand in the club’s history to appear on a Spurs shirt when the two-year deal commences at the start of the new season. The North London club are still in the process of finding shirt sponsors for other competitions, namely the FA Cup, League Cup and the Champions League, after news they plan to have multiple patrons for the new season.

Pienaar deal back on.

Harry Redknapp has turned his attention once again to Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar. Free agent Joe Cole has been the prime target of Spurs in recent weeks, but it looks as though the former Chelsea man may favour a move to Arsenal. In a report by The Sun, Redknapp may use either Robbie Keane or Jemaine Jenas in a part-exchange deal for Pienaar, although the South African has also been linked with Aston Villa and Liverpool.

Keane loan exit ruled out.

A loan deal to Celtic for Robbie Keane next season is a no-goer according to Sky Sports. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has said he will only consider selling the Republic of Ireland international if he fails to revive his career at White Hart Lane. “We paid good money for him and to loan him out again, it wouldn’t be a goer.” Celtic have admitted they cannot afford the transfer fee for the striker and a loan deal was their only other option if they were to regain his services.
