Tottenham news – Redknapp readies Bellamy offer, Richards deal no-go, Rose wants first team place

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Tottenham. Today:

Redknapp readies Bellamy offer.

Harry Redknapp is readying an offer for Craig Bellamy according to reports in the Daily Express. The Spurs boss plans to execute the deal during Tottenham’s pre-season tour of the United States and the New York Challenge Cup which Manchester City are expected to participate. Bellamy has been linked to a number of clubs since falling out of favour with Roberto Mancini, including Celtic, Cardiff City, Everton and Wolfsburg. Presumably Redknapp intends to use the Welsh international to fill the void left by Robbie Keane who may leave this summer.

Richards deal no-go.

Manchester City are keen to keep hold of Micah Richards despite earlier reports he could move to either Tottenham or Liverpool. According to The Sun, City are not prepared to sell the 22-year-old defender and have advised Spurs and Liverpool to look elsewhere. Richards had a difficult season under Roberto Mancini and struggled to make the starting XI, yet the Italian Manager still considers him an integral part of the team.

Rose wants first team place.

Tottenham youngster Danny Rose hopes his pre-season performances will be enough to cement his place in the squad for next season. Rose scored a 20 yard goal against Bournemouth on Saturday and hopes he can maintain his current form into the new season. “I want to prove to the manager and the fans that I’m good enough to be part of his plans this season,” he told Goal.com. “We all got 45 minutes at Bournemouth and I just wanted to impress the manager.”
