Dos Santos must quit clubbing.
Harry Redknapp has told Giovani dos Santos he must stop clubbing and start concentrating on his football if he is to have a future at Tottenham. In the past, dos Santos has arrived late for training because of his antics the night before, and the Spurs boss has said he must remove this from his lifestyle if he is to fulfil his potential. He told the Daily Star: “If he could pass a nightclub as well as he can pass a ball, he would be all right.”
Gudjohnsen nears move.
Eidur Gudjohnsen is ready to commit to Tottenham Hotspur for the up and coming season, amid claims he may be on his way to either Fulham or West Ham. Spurs are leading the race to sign the Icelandic international whose short loan spell at White Hart Lane impressed Harry Redknapp enough to want to sign him permanently. In a report by The Mail, Monaco boss Guy Lacombe said: “Gud is interested in England, and England is interested in Gud, so we should find a way out for him.”
Spurs players back Cole move.
Gareth Bale and Jemain Defoe both want Joe Cole to join Tottenham this season, while the future of the 28-year-old is still undecided. Cole will be out of contract with Chelsea at the end of summer but a whole host of big clubs have staked their desire to sign him for next season. Spurs and Arsenal top the list in England, but interest has also been expressed overseas from the Serie A to land the free agent. Defoe told The Sun: “If we could get someone like that at the club it would be good for everyone.”
