Every morning A
Ramsey injury latest.
There is some bright news for one of Arsenal’s youngsters this morning, as crocked starlet Aaron Ramsey is reportedly only about three weeks away from returning to full training having been absent since February.
The youngster suffered a double fracture in a Premier League match against Stoke early this year following a rash challenge from Potters’ star Ryan Shawcross. The Mirror states that Wales’ caretaker boss Bryan Flynn spoke to Ramsey recently. Flynn said: “He told me he will be back in full training in three weeks. He’s a great talent and we all want him back playing again. It’s great news for Arsenal, Wales and of course for Aaron himself. “
Gunners in for Lukaku.
The First Post is this morning claiming that Arsenal have turned their attentions away from veteran Robert Pires – who the club were reportedly preparing to re-sign – and have taken a look at 17-year-old Anderlecht striker Roman Lukaku instead.
Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid are also reportedly looking at the lanky striker, who has been compared to Chelsea’s Didier Drogba. His agent, Christophe Henrotay, has confirmed the Gunners’ interest, but said that a move is unlikely to materialize before the summer in order to allow the 6ft 3in star to finish his studies. Henrotay did admit, however, that a move to the Emirates would likely be the preferable option for the youngster.
Fabregas ready for return.
Captain Cesc Fabregas has confirmed that he has finally regained full fitness after narrowly missing out on the trip to Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The World Cup winner injured his hamstring while scoring a freak goal at Sunderland, and had initially hoped to return for the top-of-the-table clash against Chelsea which resulted in a 2-0 defeat for the Gunners. Speaking yesterday, Imscouting.com quotes Fabregas as saying: “I’m fit and training with the team. If the game was today I could have played but it was two days too soon and I didn’t want to take a gamble.” The 23-year-old is now likely to return to the Gunners’ first team when they play host to Birmingham on October 16.
