Terry out of England squad.
John Terry has been ruled out of England’s clash against Montenegro with a back injury. Drogba wins over fans.
Speaking to the People , Didier Drogba revealed that he believes he has won over the fans who used to hate him. During his first few years in the Premier League, the striker had a tendency to fall over theatrically.
Nowadays, however, the Chelsea star is recognised as a worldwide star. He admitted: “I think I am appreciated here now and I am really grateful to the fans in England. In my first season here I found it difficult to adapt and it was hard for fans to understand me. Now people think I am much better and I really love being here. The most important thing for me was to understand the culture of the game in this country. Now I have done that and I think I get a lot more respect from everybody in England.” Drogba also added that he will not be too despondent if he fails to win the Champions League: “I really want to pick up the trophy but nobody will question my ability or achievements if I don’t do it.”
Neymar advised to snub Chelsea.
Former Brazil coach Dunga has reportedly told wonderkid Neymar to sign for Juventus rather than Chelsea.
He believes the move would be in the best interests of the 18-year-old striker and he declared: “We must have patience with young people. But Juventus is a club that knows how important talent management is. Neymar is very young but he has already started to make his mark with the national team.” Meanwhile, the Sunday Mercury reports that Stoke want to sign Michael Mancienne on a permanent deal in January. The defender is on loan at Wolves for his third spell with the Black Country side but Chelsea were keen to secure a permanent transfer for the 22-year-old and would be willing to let him sign for the Potters.
Blues in for 30m Luiz.
IMScouting reports that Chelsea are ready to launch a huge bid to secure the services of Benfica’s Brazilian international David Luiz.
The centre-back, who is considered one of the most promising defenders in the world, has also attracted the attention of Manchester City and the Citizens reportedly had a €32m bid turned down in the summer. The 23-year-old has a €50m buy-out clause in his contract and Benfica chairman Luis Filipe Vieira has stated that the club are not willing to consider anything less. Chelsea, however, are keen to find a replacement for Ricardo Carvalho and they are prepared to offer €30m in January and hope that they can come to an agreement with Vieira.
