Chelsea news – Kaka rumours return, Blues in for Dutch wonderkid, Essien urges patience

Kaka rumours return.

The Daily Mail reports that Kaka could be on his way to Stamford Bridge. The 28-year-old has failed to live up expectations at Real Madrid since his £56m move and the Spanish side would reportedly rather cash in on him now.

Chelsea are believed to be favourites because of the Brazilian’s close relationship with Carlo Ancelotti who he worked with at AC Milan. Manchester City are also keeping tabs but former favourites Inter have apparently turned their attention to Karim Benzema.

Blues in for Dutch wonderkid.

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are interested in Utrecht hotshot Ricky van Wolfswinkel. The 21-year-old has been scoring for fun this season and has notched nine goals in eight league appearances including two against Ajax.

Carlo Ancelotti is looking to add some strength to his squad in January and in particular, competition to his frontline and the Dutch striker could be the ideal addition. The Blues, however, face a battle against Barcelona who are also ready to swoop for one of Europe’s top young prospects.

Essien urges patience.

Vitalfootball reports that Michael Essien has urged fans to be patient as Chelsea look to retain their Premier League crown and progress in the Champions League.

The Ghanaian midfielder, who has been in impressive form this season, also admitted he has enjoyed scoring and he cannot wait to get more goals: “All I will ask is for the fans to be patient with us when the going gets tough. The season is long and there will be ups and downs but as long as the fans are there with us during the downs as well as the ups, I have no doubt we will be fine. We were delighted with how the Arsenal game went. We had to do our fair share of defending but I think we defended well and my only regret is I didn’t add to my three goals this season when I had a good chance at the end. One thing I will say though is that goals are sweet to score and I want more of it. I will keep trying and no doubt I will score more goals this season.”
