Lindegaard deal nears.
Manchester United are being linked with a move for Danish goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard.
With Edwin van der Sar giving serious consideration to retiring at the end of the year, United need to find a new number one, and the Dane seems to fit the bill.
The Daily Mail reports goalkeeping coach Eric Steele “watched him for the fifth time on Sunday” and despite his side losing, Lindegaard received good feedback.
United have recently been linked with Athletico Madrid’s David de Gea, but Lindeggard appears to be the main target.
Carrick rubbishes exit talk.
Michael Carrick has dismissed reports linking him with a move away from the club.
The midfielder had a mixed season last year and speculation of him leaving has been revived since Gerard Houllier took over at Aston Villa. Carrick is having none of it, “I have never thought I was on my way out of United, not for one minute,” he told ESPN.
Carrick went on to say, “I have the rest of this season and next season left on my contract and I would like to stay here for the rest of my career.”
O’Shea to prove critics wrong.
John O’Shea has dismissed the concern over United’s away form.
“It has always been the case that if we draw two or three games it is a crisis, people say the empire is crumbling.” O’Shea told Sky Sports that he can see the away form “turning around very soon because of the quality and experience we have.”
O’Shea has made seven appearances for the side this season and he aware that the form is not good enough for a club of United’s stature. O’Shea has enough experience to know what the club need to do, “It is about proving the critics wrong,” he declared.
