Rooney close to return.
Wayne Rooney could be close to an early comeback. It was feared he would be out for another two weeks, but Sir Alex Ferguson has surprised everyone by announcing that Rooney says “he wants to play tomorrow,” against Sunderland.
Ferguson told The Sun he will take his time though, “I have to take the view that this injury has been niggling away for a while and he kept on playing.”
Ferguson obviously hopes the international game will help Rooney back to match fitness, as he promoted the idea of Rooney playing, “The Montenegro match is another 10 days away, by that time I would expect Wayne to be 100 per cent.”
Hernandez new Solskjaer.
Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has declared Javier Hernandez as potential heir to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Talking The Mirror about the Mexican’s winner against Valencia, Giggs said, “Javier’s goal reminded me a little bit of Ole.”
The increasingly media friendly Ryan Giggs heaped praise on Hernandez, “It’s hard not to get too excited by a player like Javier,” adding, “I was genuinely excited in pre-season, seeing what he could do.”
United fans will be very excited at such a club legend comparing a youngster to another fan hero.
