The paper suggests that despite interest from Celtic and Arsenal, a move to United would be of interest to Given as he looks to get his career back on track after a tough start to the season at Manchester City.
Hargreaves set for Wolves return.
Manchester United have pencilled Owen Hargreaves in for a return on the 26th October – the carling cup match with Wolves.
Having only played 3 minutes of football in the past two years, United are happy to ease the England midfielder back into the first team. The News of the World suggests that manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been impressed with the tenacious midfielders performances in training and is looking to get him back playing.
At one point it was thought Hargreaves was going to have to retire from the game, so a carling cup tie against an under-strength Wolves will seem like an almighty breakthrough for the 29-year-old.
