Moyes moves to back Hodgson

Everton manager David Moyes has backed his Liverpool counterpart Roy Hodgson following his side’s 2-0 victory over their great rivals on Sunday. Speaking to Sky Sports, Moyes insisted his belief that Liverpool are too good for their current position and their new manager will turn things around despite heaping more pressure onto the Anfield club by beating them.

“I think Liverpool are in a false position,” said Moyes. “They have two or three top players and have international players in every position and they have got a really good manager,” before adding that Hodgson should be given more time: “I’ve been here long enough to warrant a couple of dodgy spells and you have to look a bit further to see what Roy has achieved.”
