Stoke City sweating on extent of Ricardo Fuller’s latest injury

Tony Pulis is facing an anxious wait on results of a scan on Ricardo Fuller’s injured shoulder suffered during Stoke City’s 2-1 defeat at Bolton. The Jamaican forward fell awkwardly during an aerial challenge on Saturday injuring the same shoulder that he dislocated against Newcastle last month and the Stoke boss fears the international break may be to blame.

Speaking to BBC Radio Stoke, Pulis said: “Everybody’s got individual programmes, if they’re away for 10 days you don’t know what they’re doing. We do a lot of strength training and a lot of work on players. Matty Etherington with his hamstrings and his back, Ric with his shoulders, everybody has their own programme. The problem is when they go away on international duty they’re taken away from what we do.”

Pulis will be hoping the prognosis isn’t too bad and the 30-year-old will be fit for the visit of Manchester United on Saturday.
