Robbie Keane could be set to leave Tottenham in January, with a return to Italy on the cards for the Ireland international.
Keane has recently been told by Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni that he will have to find first-team football if he wants to stay in the national team, and the player, who spent part of last season on loan at Celtic, is known to want a move. The most likely destination, according to The Sun, could be to Italian giants Juventus, who are known to be looking for a striker, and could make a bid in January for the former Inter striker.
Mbokani rubbishes Spurs link.
Monaco striker Dieumerci Mbokani has poured cold water on reports linking him with a move to Tottenham, by declaring himself happy in Ligue-1. According to reports in France, the Congolese forward said: “I am flattered by the interest shown by Spurs, but I love it at Monaco at the moment, so let’s wait and see, you never know in football,”
Gomes wants more top players.
Tottenham’s Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has pressed the club to invest in more top-quality signings, if the club want to push for the Premier League title. Tottenham have been linked with a number of big names in recent weeks, including Diego Forlan and Luis Fabiano, but it remains to be seen if Spurs will spend big in January.
Gomes said: “You need experienced players, those who know how to win the Premier League. I think we need players like that, quality. We have quality players already, but you need players to make an impact on the team, like Van der Vaart has.”.
