Palacios set for start.
The Daily Mirror has reported that Wilson Palacios will be put back in Harry Redknapp’s side due to his overbearing mother. Speaking after meeting Palacios’ mother who expressed her discontent about her son not getting into the starting 11 at Spurs, Redknapp said:
“Jermaine (Jenas) has done well, Tom (Huddlestone) has been in great form and Luka Modric has been fantastic for us while Wilson has had a little dip in form. But he’s a great guy – he trains hard, he’s ready to play again and he’ll come back.
“He’s still great to have around the place and I’ve got to play him against Everton, really – because I met him when he was out shopping with his mum the other day while I was in town with my wife.
“She can’t speak much English, but Wilson’s mum was telling me she had come to England to watch him play and I hadn’t been playing him – and she was quite a big girl, so I’ve got to play him!
“I wasn’t going to mess with her, believe you me – she didn’t need a handbag, I reckon a right-hander would have been enough. So I went, ‘Don’t worry, Mrs Palacios, he’ll play, he’ll play.’
