Club Focus – Liverpool – Kop drop points as Wigan scrape a draw in Lancashire

Fernando Torres continued his run of goal-scoring form with a classy finish against lowly Wigan on Wednesday, but the Spaniard’s strike was not enough as Liverpool were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Roberto Martinez’s inconsistent side.

The Reds went into the game on the back of three consecutive Premier League victories, most recently a convincing win over Chelsea. Roy Hodgson decided to stick with the same starting eleven that served him so well against the champions; however his side seemed exhausted by their recent exploits.
