It seems the signing of Tottenham Hotspur Robbie Keane is going to be a popular topic of discussion this January transfer window.
Goal.com reports that Birmingham are looking to battle their Midlands rivals, Aston Villa as well as Fulham and Stoke for the Irish captain’s signature.
Harry Redknapp has set a price of £8m for Keane; however it is unlikely to reach that as the striker has not had much first team action this season so a bid of £6m from Alex McLeish’s side could be enough to steal him from other side’s clutches.
Carroll swap deal on.
The race for young England international Andy Carroll is heating up with Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United all interested in signing the Newcastle United striker.
According to FansFC.com, Tottenham are the most likely bidders at the minute with Harry Redknapp lining up a £15m bid.
It is also believed the manager will try to persuade new Toon manager Alan Pardew by offering David Bentley and Robbie Keane in some kind of exchange.
Redknapp sees Carroll as an ideal addition for his squad, especially with the knockout stages of the Champions’ League on the horizon.
Five strikers on list.
Imscouting.com believes Tottenham will be looking to sharpen up their attacking threat in January after Harry Redknapp’s side have been linked with five new strikers.
Even though Spurs have hardly struggled with goals so far this term, his strikers have looked to have struggled at times for goals, in particular, Peter Crouch.
Of all five forwards linked with a move to White Hart Lane, the most noticeable will be Spain striker Fernando Llorente who is being tracked by many major European clubs including both Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Along with him is Lorient’s Kevin Gameiro, young Feyenoord striker Luc Castaignos, long-term Spurs target Semih Senturk and a surprise choice in Italian Vincenzo Iaquinta although the asking price of between 10-15million Euros may force Redknapp to pass on the 31-year-old Juventus attacker.
