Arsenal news – Vela to Bolton, Liverpool keen on Bendtner, Mental strength key

Mental strength key.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised his side’s mental strength following their 3-0 win over Birmingham.

Goals from Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri and an own goal from once-Arsenal target Roger Johnson gave the Gunners the win in the physical clash.

He told BBC Sport: “The physical challenges – we kept calm and played our game.

“Overall we had an outstanding game. The team looked very strong and can get stronger and stronger.”

Liverpool keen on Bendtner.

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is keen to take Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner to Anfield, according to

The Danish striker would cost the Merseysiders an estimated £8m. Despite Bendtner’s recent claims that he would stay and fight for his place in the Arsenal side, a move to the north west could prove tempting.

Hodgson is known to want another striker to keep Fernando Torres on his toes while also adding goals to the repertoire as David Ngog and Ryan Babel have struggled recently.

Vela to Bolton.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle wants to repeat his wonder workings with Jack Wilshere, with another Arsenal player.

Carlos Vela has heavily been linked with a temporary move away from the Emirates across the festive period, and Coyle would love to bring the Mexican to the Reebok Stadium on loan until the end of the season.

Wilshere spent time on loan at Wanderers last season and the club have been heavily credited for giving him the experience to help him become one of Arsenal’s finest midfielders this year.
