Aston Villa are considering making a move for Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller, according to Sky
The German, 30, whose contract expires in the summer, is believed to have already spoken to Gerard Houllier in regards to a move.
Weidenfeller, who has been first choice at Dortmund since the departure of Jens Lehmann, is not going to be rushed into a decision, however, saying: “This is going to be the most important deal in my whole career, this is why I am definitely sorting out all my options. I will just sign after I have thought things over. Of course, I do not want to delay a decision for weeks or months.”
The shot stopper, who has made 197 league appearances for the Bundesliga leaders, isn’t ruling out staying in Dortmund, however, saying: “But if I am staying on, I will not sign for one or two more years. I want to be a part of Borussia (Dortmund) for longer than that.”
Meanwhile, Aston Villa have completed a loan deal for Tottenham’s young full-back Kyle Walker until the end of the season.
