Chelsea news – Sturridge “desperate” for move, No dressing-room split, Mikel out

No dressing-room split.

Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed reports of a dressing room split at Stamford Bridge.

With the Blues hoping to build on their win against Bolton on Wednesday, there is an optimism surrounding the stands that the champions could be getting their title defence back on track, but recent reports suggested that a lack of harmony may affect these chances.

Sky Sports reports that there was thought to be a falling out between the English and French speakers, but Ancelotti responded by calling the reports: “Total balls. The group is the same as last year and is united and solid. It is the opposite of what people say.”

Mikel out.

Jon Obi Mikel has been ruled out of action for at least a month after suffering a knee injury, according to The Mail Online.

It is thought the midfielder damaged his medial ligaments during the defeat at Arsenal earlier in the week, with the Nigerian international adding to recent concerns about the state of the Blues midfielders’ health.

Frank Lampard only recently returned from a lengthy layoff, Michael Essien is playing through niggling knee injuries and Ramires is continuing to struggle to adapt to life in England.

With Yossi Benayoun and Yuri Zhirkov also absent, there appears little scope for rotation in Ancelotti’s midfield when the champions take on struggling Aston Villa this afternoon.

Sturridge “desperate” for move.

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is reportedly “desperate” to make a move north and join up with Liverpool.

The former Man City youngster is reported in The Sun as desiring a loan move to the Merseysiders this month after starting just two games for the Blues so far this season.

It is speculated that any loan move could also include the option for a permanent move at the end of the season.
