Houllier set to decide on Cummings loan

Sky Sports have reported that under pressure Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier is poised to making a decision over bringing Colorado Rapids striker Omar Cummings to Villa Park on loan.

The Jamaica international has been training with Villa since the end of the MLS season, and reportedly wants to join the Premier League side on a permanent basis. Cummings? is still contracted to The Rapids, and is due to return to the MLS in March.

The forward has enjoyed a relatively successful time in the MLS, scoring 30 times in 94 appearances.

Cummings has impressed Villa boss Houllier with his performances in training, and Houllier is trying to decide whether to make a loan move for the Jamaican. “I see Omar getting better and better with every training session,” said Houllier. “I will make a decision about him soon. It will be a loan deal and we would need a work permit.”

The Frenchman has already signed Kyle Walker?and Jean Makoun? since the transfer window opened, and is still reportedly keen to make further additions to his squad, in order to help lift the beleaguered club away from the relegation zone.
