Hull City are keen to sign young Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone on a permanent basis according to Sky
The 22-year-old Italian joined The Tigers in October in a loan move which has now been extended until the end of the season. The former Atalanta stopper is currently sidelined with a thigh problem, but should be back in action in the near future.
Hull’s head of football operations Adam Pearson asked The Gunners about signing Mannone on a full-time basis, but The Londoners rejected the enquiry. Pearson still plans to have another look at the situation again at the end of the season, and has not given up on his hopes of landing the young Italian.
“We had a conversation with Arsenal? about whether they would sell him or not and the answer at this time was definitely a no,” he said in an interview with the Hull Daily Mail.
“In the summer it will depend how he has done here, and if he has done really well, the chances are that the answer will probably once again be no, but it is certainly something we will keep in mind.”
