The Daily Mirror reports that the transfer is being held up, however, with City holding out for £6m rather than the £2.5m on offer from Lazio. The club is eager to recoup more of the £17.5m outlay they spent on the forward who has only featured twice this season.
With the impending arrival of Edin Dzeko, Santa Cruz will be pushed even further down the pecking order at the City of Manchester stadium and seems to be keen to leave. Having been signed by previous manager Mark Hughes he has seen his career in Manchester blighted by injury and has only featured 24 times for the North West side and will be looking to get his career back on track with the Coppa Italia holders.
