Kasper Schmeichel has been nominated for the Player of the 3rd Round award for his performance against Arsenal at The Emirates last week.
The Danish goalkeeper produced a string of saves, notably from Andrey Arshavin and Denilson to keep Leeds in the tie. He was only beaten by a last-minute Cesc Fabregas penalty as Leeds earned a 1-1 draw and a replay on Wednesday night. Schmeichel is joined on the list by Michael Bostwick of Stevenage who scored in their win over Premier League Newcastle United, Shaun Harrad who scored twice for Burton Albion in their 2-1 win over Middlesbrough, Diomansy Kamara who netted a hat-trick for Fulham in a 6-2 win against Peterborough and Sergio Torres the hero for Crawley Town in their win over Derby County.

Sanchez Watt has admitted he is dreaming of dumping parent club Arsenal out of the FA Cup on Wednesday night.
The on-loan forward scored his first goal for Leeds United in the 4-0 win over Scunthorpe United on Saturday, and has now turned his attention to the 3rd Round replay where he told The Telegraph and Argus that he hopes to score again: “If that happens, I will be happy inside. I just want to play to the best of my ability on Wednesday and hopefully I will score.”
Watt is focused on Leeds United and was happy to open his account for the Yorkshire club: “Hopefully there is more to come from me, I want to score more goals and help the team get promoted.”
Two Leeds United players are away on international duty at the moment and are having differing experiences.
Neil Kilkenny has been an unused substitute in both of Australia’s game in the Asia Cup currently taking place in Qatar. The Socceroos’ beat India 4-0 before drawing with South Korea 1-1 on Friday. Their final group game takes place on Tuesday against Bahrain where a draw will take the Aussies through. Meanwhile Honduran international Ramon Nunez has had more success, scoring his country’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Costa Rica in the Central American Championship. Nunez who has just signed a new 18 month contract with the club grabbed a stoppage time goal to earn a draw with the six-time champions.
