According to sources at Sky Sports, Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko is to undergo a medical today, ahead of his move to Manchester City.
Reports filtered through over the weekend that City had agreed a £27million transfer fee for the Bosnian international and should all go well he could be available for the weekend’s cup fixture with Leicester City.
Manager Roberto Mancini believes the acquisition of Dzeko could prove a pivotal factor in the title race.
‘We have the chance to win the league this year and the decisive factor could be Edin Dzeko. This player can decide titles and that is why we want him.’
Liverpool and Real Madrid are both said to be interested in signing Manchester City misfit Emmanuel Adebayor, according to the Daily Mail.
The Tologese forward is deemed surplus to requirements at City having made just 8 appearances this season, however his availability hinges on whether Edin Dzeko completes his proposed move to Eastlands.
Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid are said to be in pole position to sign the striker on a short term deal, as they would be able to contribute a higher percentage of the players wages.
Kolo plays down bust-up.
Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has played down his training ground feud with former Arsenal team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor.
The pair clashed during a training session but Toure insists, “It’s already forgotten” whilst claiming, “with Adebayor it’s not the first time and it won’t be the last. At Arsenal we often had a similar set-to. We know each other well, maybe too well.”
This recent spat joins a long list of disagreements between players and managerial staff and will surely harm City’s preparations for tonight’s match at Arsenal, as they look to continue their push for the title.
