Man Utd news – Fergie eyes Henderson, Adler wants Utd move, Amos joins Oldham

Fergie eyes Henderson.

Sir Alex Ferguson is leading the race to sign Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The highly rated England international is said to prefer a move to Old Trafford ahead of their City rivals because he feels there will be more first team opportunities.

Last month Ferguson revealed he would not be doing any business in the transfer window but it appears his stance has since changed.

“I’d like to get one player in during the transfer window if I could,” he said.

“With some deals done in January you don’t get the benefit until a year later – such as with Vidic and Evra.”

Adler wants Utd move.

Bayern Leverkusen goalkeeper Rene Adler has urged Manchester United to sign him during the upcoming transfer window.

The gifted 25-year old is desperate to join his ‘dream club’ in order to emulate his boyhood hero Peter Schemiechel.

“Everyone here knows that I have higher ambitions and everyone knows that Manchester United is my dream club.

He added: “As a young kid all my friends were interested in cartoons, MTV, and German television programmes, but I was only interested in one person: Peter Schmeichel, who was in goal for Manchester United.”

Sir Alex Ferguson has been monitoring the German’s situation and could now be tempted to trigger the £15million release clause.

Amos joins Oldham.

Manchester United shot-stopper Ben Amos has joined Oldham on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old has played three times for United, most notably a starting appearance in their 1-1 Champions League draw against Valencia.

Amos was allowed to leave after the arrival of Anders Lindegaard and Ferguson will hope the player emulates the successful loan spells of his fellow United team mates.
