Tottenham are set to make a loan move for Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra, according to a report in the Mirror.
Diarra has previously played under current Spurs boss Harry Redknapp back in 2008 when the Frenchman signed for Portsmouth, before subsequently moving on to Real Madrid for £18m a year later.
Diarra has struggled to hold down a first-team place at Real under Jose Mourinho, and the defensive midfielder has been courted by many of Europe’s top clubs. It is thought a move for the player could help Redknapp bring the necessary European experience needed to help Tottenham progress on all fronts.
The report also suggests that Spurs could follow up the loan deal with a £10m offer in the summer.
