FansFC.com today reports that Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the current situation between Manchester City and defender Micah Richards.
The 22-year-old England international has only started ten games for Roberto Mancini’s side in the Premier League this season and it is understood the defender is becoming frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities, mainly down to the good form of Pablo Zabaleta.
Redknapp has been a keen admirer of Richards for a while and it is believed the manager will be keeping an eye on the situation before making a decision on whether to bid for the out-of-favour defender.
No Suarez bid.
Talk of Uruguayan star Luis Suarez coming to the Premier League has been very prominent in the last year, with the Ajax striker attracting interest across the whole of Europe, however it seems Harry Redknapp has not made an offer for the hit man, despite having a key interest in the player.
Suarez has been in cracking form for the Dutch giants ever since his move in 2006, scoring 110 goals in just 154 games and Redknapp is keen to sign a new striker following the expected departure of Robbie Keane.
However, according to Crunchsports.com, if Spurs were to make a bid, they face stiff competition from Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Liverpool plus others for the 23-year-old’s signature.
Beckham future unsure.
It is not known what the situation is with the David Beckham move to Tottenham Hotspur, but it is known that he is having a medical today at Spurs to assess the 35-year-old midfielder’s fitness.
The Telegraph reports that there was not an issue over the insurance set by his parent club LA Galaxy as Beckham had paid his own insurance when moving to Italy but the MLS side are not keen to loan Beckham out to Europe where he sustained a serious injury whilst on duty for AC Milan last season.
Despite the ongoing situation, Beckham is expected to start training with the Spurs squad tomorrow ahead of his expected loan move to White Hart Lane.
