An unbeaten January for Arsenal means that the North London club still have ambitions for success in all four competitions they’ve entered this season. After progression in the FA Cup, some good results in the league, and having reached the League Cup final, the Gooners can consider the start of 2011 to be a very successful one.
On the Pitch: Three 3-0 wins and a frustrating 0-0 draw summed up Arsenal’s efforts in the Premier League during the first month of the new calendar year. Only Manchester City were able to take points from a frustrated Gunners who were unlucky not to do the double over Roberto Mancini’s men. Besides that, the Gooners recorded easy wins over Birmingham City, West Ham United, and Wigan Athletic. 10 points from 12 in January now means that the Gunners stand between the two Mancunian clubs; four points ahead of Manchester City, but five behind their rivals United.
