explains Tevez comments.
Kia Joorabchian has moved to reiterate Carlos Tevez’s plans to remain in Europe after increased speculation linking him with a move to former club Corinthians.
Joorabchian appeared to indicate in a recent interview that he was negotiating a deal to bring Tevez back to South America but his quotes were apparently misinterpreted.
“Let me make it perfectly clear that Carlos plans to remain in Europe for the next three years, minimum,” Joorabchian told ESPNsoccernet.
“He would not rule out playing again for Corinthians on his way back to play for Boca, but I didn’t say this was happening now, or indeed in two years, because it isn’t.”
Injuries worry Mancini.
Manchester City boss Roberton Mancini admits his preparations for tonight’s Europa League fixture with Greek side Aris has been hampered by a series of injuries.
“We have a big problem, a lot of games and a lot of injuries,” he said.
“Injuries are a part of the game but at least we have all our strikers available. If we can keep it that way for the next three matches, we should be able to make progress.”
Mancini was also keen to stress that his side would not underestimate tonight’s opponents but was confident of progressing into the next round.
“We will need to pay attention against Aris because 0-0 is not the best result away from home, but the pitch will be better and if we play well I’m sure we can score goals.
“We will need to play well, because Aris have shown they can get results away from home. They beat Atletico in Madrid.”
Silva happy at City.
Influential midfielder David Silva has revealed he is happy with his new life in Manchester amidst reports he was suffering from homesickness.
Silva has become an integral part of the new regime at Eastlands and was surprised to hear of transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club.
“I was as surprised as anyone else here to have read those reports,” Silva told www.mcfc.co.uk.
“I do the odd interview with Spanish press but I have never come out with these quotes that may or may not have been attributed to me.
“My initial reaction was surprise, but as I have said before, I am happy to be here and I find myself very much at ease with life here.”
