Terry: We’re still on for League and Champions double.
Chelsea centre-back John Terry has revealed that he has not, and will not give up the Blues chase for Champions League and Premier League glory according to Goal.com.
The Stamford Bridge side are currently on a five match unbeaten run which is an improvement on some of their form this season and has placed them back amongst the chasers for the top spot currently held by Manchester United.
The Chelsea Captain said: “We won’t give up chasing or fighting. Our fans have kept faith with us this season and we owe it to the supporters to finish the season strongly, showing the quality we have and picking up big results.”
The Blues currently hold fourth position in the Premier League and are nine points behind the leaders with a game in hand going in to Sunday’s crunch tie with Manchester City.
According to the Daily Mirror new Chelsea striker Fernando Torres’s lack of form at the start of his much discussed Blues career could be down to being homesick.
After having a difficult time at Liverpool, Torres sealed a British transfer record £50m deal taking him to Stamford Bridge although he had expressed a desire to negotiate a move back to his homeland of Spain but this fell through due to his notorious requirement of Champions League football and no top Spanish sides showing any real interest in the striker.
Torres is still yet to score for Chelsea in his opening five games and it is believed that he still does not have permanent accommodation in London and he reportedly failed in a bid to buy West Ham defender Wayne Bridge’s former home.
