Manchester City have named Napoli striker Edinson Cavani as a possible replacement for want away Carlos Tevez or troubled youngster Mario Balotelli, according to Goal.com.
The 24-year-old has been in fine form this season, scoring 20 goals in 28 Serie A matches, and has been heavily linked with a move to the Eastlands in the summer.
The Uruguayan would be an ideal replacement for either Carlos Tevez, who has stated publicly that he wants to leave the club in the near future, and Mario Balotelli, who has struggled to adapt to life in England.
City face a tough task if they are to try and convince Napoli to sell Cavani as they have stressed that their most important asset is not for sale.
Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has stated that he is determined to hold on to the talented youngster: “I wouldn’t even sell him for €50m [£41.5m]. I would say ‘no’ if Manchester City wanted him.”
Ade wants Madrid stay.
Emmanuel Adebayor has told Manchester City that he does not want to return to the club at the end of the season, Metro has revealed.
The Togolese striker is currently on loan at Real Madrid and it is understood that the striker and Los Blancos are interested in making the deal permanent.
The former Arsenal striker told Spanish newspaper AS: “Playing here is a dream come true and I now feel useful again. I will do everything I can to stay here. All I want to do is win titles. La Liga is not over yet and anything can happen in the 90 minutes of the Copa del Rey final (against Barcelona).”
It is understood that Adebayor has no place in Roberto Mancini’s plans, so a summer exit looks likely for the former Togo international.
Spanish defender to replace Toure.
Reports in Spain suggest that Manchester City are tracking 21-year-old defender David Rochela to replace Kolo Toure next season should the Ivorian serve a lengthy ban from FIFA, according to talkSPORT.
Toure has been banned from football after testing positive for a ‘specified substance’ and could face a suspension of up to two years.
The Citizens have sent scouts to monitor the young Deportivo La Coruna defender and they could be willing to bring the Spain Under 19 star to the club, should Toure receive a suspension.
Rochela is currently contracted to the La Liga side until the summer of 2013 and has made five appearances for his club this season.
