Tottenham news – New kit deal, Juventus in for Lennon, Palacios injured

Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios has been sidelined for an estimated three weeks with a knee injury picked up in training.

According to the clubs website Palacios reported an injury to the club staff after training on Thursday and as a result the midfielder has undergone surgery on the affected knee.

Palacios could miss out on fixtures against London rivals West Ham, Midlands battlers Stoke City and former club Wigan Athletic.

Juventus in for Lennon.

According to Talksport Tottenham pace wizard Aaron Lennon is strongly attracting the interests of Juventus.

After impressing with his performance in Tottenham’s successful Champions League tie against Milan on Wednesday, Juventus reportedly see the England international as an ideal addition to their squad.

Manager Harry Redknapp is reportedly unlikely to want to sell Lennon as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League and it is believed that the Bianconeri are set to offer an initial £20m to open negotiations.

It is reported that Redknapp will have a busy summer in terms of trying to fend of interest for a few of his top stars including Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart who have all enjoyed good seasons and are attracting attention from various clubs.

New kit deal.

Tottenham Hotspurs have signed a new multi-million pound kit sponsorship deal to begin with the 2012/2013 seasons the BBC have reported.

Under Armour will replace current sponsors Puma who have been the Spurs kit makers since 2006.

The multi-million pound U.S owned company are also the creators of the Welsh Rugby team kit and although the sponsorship fee has not been officially released the BBC believe it to be around £10m a year.

“We are delighted that Under Armour will become our new technical partner from 2012 onwards,” said Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy.

“They are an extremely ambitious brand with global aspirations, making them ideal partners for Tottenham Hotspur.”
